For the past several seasons, the Trench Coat has been the rage at every retailer from Target to Burberry. While Burberry is clearly not in everyone’s budget, I continue to stick to my assertion that women should consider the trench an essential and purchase the best quality she can comfortably afford.
This treasure from MaxStudio meets my value criteria: comfort, style, quality and price. This three quarter sleeve, double breasted jacket is constructed of a polyester fabric called memory taffeta. The memory refers to the ability of the fabric to retain its shape and texture. It has wonderful details that are more characteristic of much more expensive coats: self belt, vented back, gun flaps, epaulettes at the shoulders, hook and eye closure at the collar, flap pockets and cuff straps.
This trench will literally take you through the day: It will take you through the work day, glam up your jeans or look oh-so-chic over your favorite Little Black Dress. Or wear it over your pajamas (or none at all) to get the paper in the morning. Truly, there is no more basic staple for any wardrobe.
