GlamourByLBD Note: I asked my stylist, Marla Coniconde of Lux Image Agency in Los Gatos what she expects to be the biggest hair trend for 2009. Here is what she said.
GlamourByLBD: In 2008, it seemed to me that a lot of people were wearing their hair much darker than before. What do you see as the biggest hair color trend as we go into 2009?
Marla: Hair color these days are definitely reds of all shades. from light golden strawberries to deep plum hues, it seems that every where you look red is in the hair!
GlamourByLBD: I think that’s a good thing. What do you think…is red for everyone?
Marla: I love red hair, but it is a strong color that takes courage to wear, but also gives courage to the wearer. I don’t think there is a person out there who is unable to wear red hair. One must simply take into account their age, skin shade and lifestyle.
GlamourByLBD: I have thought about putting some red in my hair but have always thought it would make me look like a tomato!
Marla: Well, if you are too timid to go for it, why not put a few highlights in for affect or a subtle hue in your base color? Red is hot, red is strong, red is powerful, red is stimulating. Red also speaks of life. Great words to associate with oneself.
GlamourByLBD: Marla, you may have talked me into it! Is there any words of wisdom that you would like to share with GlamourByLBD readers if they decide to go for a little red this season?
Marla: Oh yeah! Ask your hairstylist what is right for you. Warning! Do NOT try this at home!
Marla is my stylist. She works out of the Lux Image Agency in Los Gatos
