The “X” figure is also known as the hourglass.  do you have great curves with a full figure on top, defined waist and full hips?  I am always considering several things when working with this particular customer.

Does she have a full tummy?  If so, I work with the guidelines for the “O” body type.

How are her hips in comparison to the rest of her body?  If she has larger hips, then I work with the guidelines for the “A” bodytype.

Does she have a long or short waist?  In tomorrow’s article, I will address the strategies behind dressing the long and short waist.

I really like skirts for the “X” girl.  They look beautiful and sophisticated, really playing up her curves without the fit challenges of pants.  Other than that, I avoid anything that fits too closely, pockets, and any accents that might add extra curve.  Stretch is great but too stretchy or loose will just look sloppy.

I find that the most success with classic cut pants with flat fronts of fluid materials and depending on her height, straight to boot cut.

What do you outfit makes you feel your best?
