One week ago, I started a diet through Lite for Life. Basically, it is controlled servings of starch, fruit, and protein with unlimited green vegetables in order to regulate blood sugar. I write down what I eat and spread it over the course of the entire day; and watch my water intake and supplements to be sure that nutrition is optimized. Following the diet combined with a workout regimen with Michelle and Rommell (see both of their blogs under Health and Wellness) not only did I lose two pounds this week, but I also gained one pound of muscle so my net fat loss was three pounds! My pants are definitely zipping up more smoothly already! And my energy levels are high.
I find that my attitude is everything in my decisions about health and wellness. I asked my trainer Michelle Melendez to share with us what she has learned to be true in the area of attitude in weight management.
“I’ve been a fitness trainer since 1996 and one thing I’ve noticed between people who maintain fitness fro the rest of their lives and people who don’t is very simple. The people who maintain fitness believe it’s easy to fit fitness in their lives and the people who don’t believe and live into fitness is hard and I’m too busy.
If you tell yourself, it’s too hard and I’m too busy, your unconscious will find reasons to make this statement true.
However, if you ask yourself,
- How can I make fitness easy?”
- How can I eat what I love and still lose weight?
- How can I enjoy being fit?”
Miracles will happen in your life and you’ll start to lose weight without the struggle. Give it a try and see what happens.”
