Because earrings are right next to your face, they are one of the most defining accessories in your wardrobe. If you are the lucky one with the perfect oval face shape, then you want to really show off those amazing dominant cheekbones. You can wear just about any earring and look great! The best look for you is either triangular earrings or simple studs. The one thing you want to avoid is long earrings which will elongate your face.
The counter to the oval face is the round face. Instead of dominant cheekbones, your full cheeks are the widest part of your face. You want to wear those earrings that will elongate your face and avoid those stud earrings.
Somewhere between the oval and round is the heart-shaped face. This face has the high cheekbones like the oval, but a wide forehead and narrow chin. Your goal with earrings is to soften out the downward taper from forehead to chin. To do this, look for circular, oval or triangular earrings with the widest point at the bottom. This will serve to counterbalance the sharp chin.
Does it seem like your squared jaw is your most dominant feature? If so, your face is either square or an elongated rectangle shape. If your face is more square, you will want to look for earrings to soften this live with rounded edges and round or oval shapes. Drop earrings or chandeliers that add depth to your face and balance out the middle of the face. Avoid square and flat earrings as they will just emphasize the squareness.
So, hopefully, now you know why those earrings just didn’t look so great and have a new strategy for getting the perfect earring to accent your face shape!
